Why Hire a Resume Writer?

The resume is a marketing tool. When combined with solid interview and presentation skills, it can be an effective "souvenir" that helps you to stand out in the mind of a hiring manager. Job hunting is already expensive when you consider the number of weeks and months that you spend without steady income, not to mention interviewing and other expenses. However, if you're not receiving responses to your job applications, it's time for a change. Professional resumes help you stand out from the competition, and the role of a resume writer is to market you in a way that is authentic to your personal brand. A professional resume helps you to come "alive" on the page through a targeted message, but never overstates or over-promises.

Meet the Team

Sona Joshi, MA, MPA, PCC, CPRW

CEO and Founder

My name is Sona Joshi and I am a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) through the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches (PARW/CC). I decided to become certified for two reasons. The first is that I hired my own CPRW in 2013 when I wanted to make a career change. I was so impressed by the quality of the resume that I received, I knew I had made the right decision to hire a resume writer. Based on my improved resume, I was able to transition to a new organization, where I provided executive and career coaching to Master's degree students. After reviewing hundreds of resumes in 14 different industries over a period of many months, I felt that I had enough experience to certify as a resume writer. I know firsthand the power of a professional resume and the doors that it can open for a candidate. Investing in a resume is a financial decision that will pay off for years to come. While there are resources and templates that you can use for free, they are not customized for you and may not showcase the value that you provide to employers.

Imagine how much money and time you will lose the longer you remain in an unfulfilling job or even unemployed.

As Martin Yate, CPC, notes, a resume is the most important financial document that you will ever own. When a document is that important for your future success and career happiness, you need something that represents you and your brand.
